At Flora Springs we live by a simple creed: the land returns the love you give it. For half a century the Komes Garvey family has tended and nurtured our vineyards with loving care. Our mission is to sustain with each harvest ever healthier vines and soil, a natural habitat improved with every year’s production. Over 200 acres of vibrant vineyards testify to our stewardship of a precious resource whose care and sustenance is a literal labor of love.

On the southern edge of the St. Helena AVA with close proximity to the Napa River, P&J Vineyard offers a diverse blend of alluvial soils. These deep soils help the vineyard come into balance during the warm St. Helena summers.

Komes Ranch Estate Vineyard begins at an elevation of 500 feet along the Mayacamas range and rises to 1,000 feet. The vineyard’s natural beauty is more than visual, with well-drained clay and sandy loam soils, resulting in vines with deep root systems for low yields of top quality fruit.

The Windfall Vineyard, on the western benchland of the Rutherford sub-appellation, enjoys cool evenings and warm afternoons. The four acres of well-drained, nutrient-rich, gravelly loams produce concentrated yet balanced Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot.

Crossroads Ranch, 107 sunny acres in Oakville, is where the Komes Garvey family discovered a previously unknown Sauvignon Blanc clone we named Soliloquy, the basis of our eponymous signature white blend. It’s also the source for our single vineyard Holy Smoke Cabernet Sauvignon.

Sustainable Practices
Building healthy soil
Healthy soil stems from natural pest control, strict water conservation, and the maintenance of biodiversity. Composts and cover crops both add to soil richness and fight erosion.
An environment that nourishes beneficial microorganisms and organic matter produces fruit of the highest quality.
Controlling vineyard pests naturally
Owl nesting boxes, raptor perches, and other encouragements to bird life naturally control insects and rodents. Mechanical tilling reduces spraying.
Conserving water and biodiversity
Drip irrigation delivers water directly to the vines’ roots, maximizing soil moisture and aeration, reducing water consumption by up to 20%.
Habitat improvement at the vineyard’s edges encourages biodiversity and a healthy ecosystem.
Making quality job a priority
The result is fruit of great concentration and balance, and lands that pass to the next generation in the very peak of health.
