The Autumn Equinox

The Autumn Equinox, also known as the fall equinox, occurs around September 22 or 23 in the Northern Hemisphere. It marks the moment when the sun crosses the celestial equator, resulting in nearly equal lengths of day and night. This event signals the official start of autumn, bringing cooler temperatures and the vibrant colors of changing leaves. Many cultures celebrate this time with festivals and rituals, honoring the harvest and reflecting on the balance of light and dark as the days grow shorter. We look forward to cozy season, sweater weather and candle-lit evenings. The Autumn equinox means the shift of the seasons and the start of the wine harvest in the Napa Valley.
